Context
ESH Group approached the team at Collaborate Land to identify a site and negotiate the purchase of the land for a seven-acre placemaking development in Askern, a community town in Doncaster, South Yorkshire. Full project support was needed to secure the land, take it through the planning process and unlock its full potential.
Task
As well as securing the land and planning, we needed to find the right collaborators to ensure we could deliver the proposal of 54 affordable homes, 12 bungalows and a three-storey retirement living building containing 60 apartments. The development needed to meet an identified housing need in the district, and the retirement living requirements of an ageing population.
