A stalled site with earmarked funding got off the ground with the support of the Collaborate Living team.
Context
Johnnie Johnson is a not-for-profit housing trust committed to delivering high-quality affordable homes across the North of England. In December 2020, they purchased land in Chinley, in the High Peak area of Derbyshire for the purpose of developing affordable housing in this area.
Despite securing planning permission and the necessary funding to develop, progress on the development unexpectedly stalled. Conscious of their commitment to delivering affordable housing in the borough, the Johnnie Johnson project team approached Collaborate Living to help bring the development to fruition.
Task
Our aim was to get the development back on track as quickly as possible, meeting budget and time constraints through collaboration with our wide network of trusted delivery partners. Johnnie Johnson needed to deliver on their promise of affordable housing, as well as ensuring that funds were used to their maximum potential in good time. As experts in the affordable housing sector, we brought together the right people to streamline the process and revive a stalled development process.

Outcomes
Collaborate Living are the driving force behind delivering affordable housing and building communities. we were delighted to be able to step in to re-energize this placemaking development with Johnnie Johnson. This area has a rich history as a residential hub. By reaching out to our trusted partners, we assembled the right collaborators to unlock the site’s potential and introduce new high-quality homes to the area.
Johnnie Johnson now has a contract in place with an agreed construction partner. Their development is continuing as planned and they are in a position to start delivering the scheme. Working with Collaborate Living has enabled them to meet the demand for affordable high-quality homes to build a thriving community that complements the area’s beautiful surroundings.
